Blessings of Missionary Service

Two weeks ago we were trying to figure out where we needed to go that night, so we decided to pray and ask God what His will would be. As we prayed, my companion got an impression to visit a family that he had met during an exchange. I had never heard of them before. They were the Sosa family and we got to meet Juan, who is the husband and a less active member of 19 years! He was baptized when he was 13 and he stopped going to church when he was just 14. He proceeded to tell us that he has always loved the church and had hoped that someday he would be able to go back and bring his family as well. He still remembered how special he felt and how the Spirit connected with him. He wanted that same blessing for his family of five! We came over again a few days later and taught them about Lehi and his family and the vision he had of the Tree of Life and how it relates to their family. The Spirit was so so strong and we invited them to come join us at church this past Sunday. They said they would be there! And for the first time in 19 years Juan came back and felt that same special Spirit he remembered as a kid and was able to help his family feel the same!

I know this work and message we bring is centered on families and that if we build on the principles of the gospel, and on our Savior Jesus Christ, we will not fall when the devil sends forth his mighty whirlwinds. I love my Savior and my mission and am so grateful to be here in South Texas!!
